This allows her to share a valuable perspective only possible through many years of living in the same community in which she has also mastered the art of helping people buy and sell their homes and land.

Ellen grew up in West Los Angeles, where she attended Hamilton High School. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical education from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), and a counseling credential from California State University at Northridge. Prior to real estate, she was a well-respected counselor and physical education instructor at Santa Monica High School for 13 years. After moving to Malibu in 1970, she contracted the re-building of a home in 1979, which sparked a natural talent and led to the evolution of her successful real estate career. Ellen and her husband of 44 years, Kent - a golf entrepreneur, retired teacher and dentist - share their five-acre Malibu ranch with a special menagerie of five horses, four dogs, and three pot-bellied pigs.

In addition to excelling in her profession, Ellen is also a highly accomplished equestrian. She enjoys raising quarter horses and competing in local and national horse events, including quarter horse shows and American Horse Show Association (AHSA) competitions. Ellen and her horses have received numerous honors and rankings, both locally and nationally.

It is this same drive and discipline to excel in the athletic arena that elevates her achievements in real estate. Ellen’s repertoire of inventory includes elegant estates, beachfront, bluff and equestrian properties, and a wide range of homes, townhomes, condos, vacant land, and leases.

To more effectively respond to her clients, she is assisted by Shannon Steere, a Malibu resident since 1960, who has been a realtor with Ellen for the past 12 years, and Leslie Martinez, a resident since 1990 and a realtor with Ellen since 2004.
